The podcast that explores how stories make us who we are |
![]() If you've been around these parts before, you know that each podcast I invite a guest on to explore a story that has in someway shaped who they've become. While I always do my best to give listeners an overview of the story, so they can follow along, this week I'll be doing something special- telling the story to be discussed on next weeks show. My hope is to allow you to have your own experience of the story before the discussion. To let the wonder and magic of the tale meet you wherever you are in your life and whisper to you, whatever it is you most need to hear. Then, on our next episode, you can listen in as I speak with my guest about how the story shaped them. We'll break down certain aspects of the story and hopefully, deepen your own experience and understanding of it for yourself. To set the stage and get you set up properly before listening, I invite you to take some time to come up with an intention or a question that you'd like answered? What is something in your life that you'd like more clarity around. Something you'd like to deepen your relationship to. I suggest you spend sometime journaling on this topic. Then, listen to the recording below. But do yourself a favor when you listen - put the journal down. Just listen. Be with the story. Resists the temptation to rush in and make meaning. Let the story speak to you in its own time and its own way. I'm fond of telling people to simply, "notice what you notice." Myths and fairy tales tend to have their own way of doing things. Let them. Enjoy! PS - You'll notice that this recording has not be published through the usual podcast sites. It's an extra for visitors to mythandmischief.com and folks on the Mischievable mailing list. Story Mischief PodcastAbout The Show:Stories are mischievous little buggers that have been shaping our personal and cultural identities for over ten thousand years. On this podcast, we take a careful look at just how that is. Why? Because while some stories have the ability to lift us up, transform and make us feel whole, others have the ability to divide, mislead and keep us playing small - and who’s got time for that non-sense?
